Public Enemy No.1: Sexism
Earlier this month the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Amy Worden wrote about the trials and tribulations women face working in the State Capitol:
“Meet Public Enemy No. 1 for women in the Capitol, particularly lobbyists in stiletto heels: the polished Moravian tiles that blanket 16,000 square feet of the great rotunda and the main halls of the 106-year-old building.”
It doesn’t matter what women working in the State Capitol wear to work. The Inquirer could be focusing on more relevant issues. Instead the paper is focusing on women’s footwear. That’s just plain sexist.
