REALLY DAMN SEXIST: Glenn Beck’s Buddy Rants on Pelosi
Filling in for perpetually sexist Glenn Beck, radio talking head Pat Gray ranted about Nancy Pelosi’s face on The Glenn Beck Program last week. Gray made the very logical leap from tax bills to cosmetic surgery, yelling out at Pelosi, “You’re just a flat out liar whose face doesn’t move because you’ve had so much work done on it!”
Sexist comments against women leaders hurt all women. Attacking a woman politician’s physical appearance to back up a political argument about taxes is not only a sexist double-standard, crass, and totally irrelevant -- it’s just really lame radio. Plus, Gray continues with some graphically violent verbal imagery -- stepping beyond the regular media barrage of sexist comments on women leaders' appearances.
